INVITATIONS

Set up a family production line for these invitations!

YOU WILL NEED (PER INVITATION):

Train template (page 163)

Pencil

Thin cardboard measuring 180 × 120 mm

Scissors

Craft knife

±50 mm square piece of clear acetate

Adhesive tape

Selection of coloured paper

Craft glue

Notepaper

Glitter pen

Polyester fibre filling for the smoke

4 × glow-in-the-dark or self-adhesive stars

Silver glitter glue

Trace the outline of the template onto the cardboard and cut out.

Use the craft knife to remove the window section and tape the acetate in position on the underside of the train.

Refer to the photograph for use of colours and cut out the sections of the train using the template as a guide. Glue in position on the upper side of the train.

Write the invitation details (see Suggested Wording) on the notepaper and paste at the back of the train, taking care not to overlap into the acetate section.

Write the guest’s name below the window using a glitter pen.

Glue the fibre filling to the chimney section to create the smoke and attach the stars to the wheels.

Dab a spot of glitter glue on the front of the engine and on the boiler behind the funnel and leave to dry.
